Pebble and cobble conglomerates and very coarse to coarse sandstone, in beds < 4 m thick. The sandstone shows channels, planar and trough-cross bedding, with co-sets several metres thick, and is locally contorted. |
| Definition of Lower Boundary: |
Unconformable upon Lewisian Gneiss (L). Precambrian weathering profile occurs locally just below the unconformity. |
| Definition of Upper Boundary: |
Conformably overlain by the remainder of the Applecross Formation (TCA). |
| Thickness: |
c. 450 m; thinning to the south. |
