| Definition of Lower Boundary: | Sandstone sharply overlies relatively thinly bedded and fine-grained sandstones and siltstones (Claughton Member or Keasden Flags). | ||
| Definition of Upper Boundary: | Sandstone is overlain sharply by mudstones with marine fauna (Crossdale Mudstone) including Isohomoceras subglobosum Marine Band in Crossdale Beck. | ||
