Base of Downie Point Conglomerate Member (Dunnothar Castle Conglomerate Formation), where thickly-bedded or massive conglomerate overlies planar bedded or cross-bedded pebbly sandstone of the Carron Sandstone Formation. |
| Thickness: |
Variable, up to maximum of 1800m. Presumed to lap onto basement (Highland Border Complex and possibly Dalradian) and to be overlapped by younger groups. |
