Sandstone, pale orange-brown, coarse- to very coarse-grained, very thick-bedded; typically low-angle tabular planar-bedded; feeble parallel laminations; sporadic trough cross-stratification. Note: Nottage Crag Grit is a very prominent feature-forming delta top sandstone within a siltstone/fine-grained sandstone interbedded, slumped delta slope formation. |

Sharp base to the coarse-grained sandstone of the Nottage Crag Grit overlying siltstones with fine-grained sandstone beds of the Claughton Member. |
| Definition of Upper Boundary: |
Not exposed; sandstones of the Nottage Crag Grit are overlain by siltstone of the Claughton Moor Siltstones. |
