| Lithological Description: |
Lacustrine deltaic deposits comprise a coarsening upward sequence of sediments laid down in a prograding delta at the fluvial-lacustrine boundary as fluvial current velocity is dissipated. The deposits comprise sand, silt, clay, and the remains of brackish water organisms and organic matter. Deltaic deposits can be subdivided in a variety of ways, for example by fluvial, wave and tidal influence. |
