Unconformably overlies glacigenic deposits (diamictons, laminated muds, sands and gravels) of the Jurby and Orrisdale formations. |

Usually the ground surface, but may be overlain by Holocene sediments (such as peat, with Holocene plant and insect remains, or brown sand). |
| Thickness: |
2m of calcareous marl, capped by peaty clay, is recorded in a kettlehole infill at Glen Wyllin. |
