Chalk gravel in a fine-grained chalk clay matrix, with flint pebbles; commonly overlain by a metre of pale brown silty chalky loam; waterlain. [Generic description: 1:50 k map margins].
A terrace deposit of the Sudbury Formation (SBRY) in the Valley of the Upper Thames upstream of Oxford. It is now recognised as youngest unit of the Sudbury Formation (Sumbler, 2001) and by inference is equated with the Gerrards Cross Member (GCGR) of the Middle Thames area (see also Whiteman and Rose, 1992; Bridgland, 1994). |
