Chenier deposits comprise sand occupying a long, low, narrow, wooded beach ridge or hummock which forms roughly parallel to a prograding shoreline, resting on peat or clay. Width varies from 40 to 400 m and length can be several tens of kilometres.
Sand and gravel; inter-chenier deposits are typically more clay- and silt-rich. |
