Lithological Description: Lacustrine, commonly laminated clays and silts.
Definition of Lower Boundary: Overlies the Thrussington Till Member (THT).
Definition of Upper Boundary: Overlain by the Wigston Sand and Gravel Member (WIGS).
Thickness: It reaches over 25 m in thickness in the Wolvey area [SP 43 87].
Geographical Limits: Developed between Market Bosworth and Leicester, extending to Stretton under Fosse in the south (i.e. the area where it is always overlain by Wigston Sand and Gravel (WIGS) or Oadby Till (ODT) members, and where there is no 'Upper Wolston Clay'). Beyond Stretton it passes into the lower leaf of the Wolston Clay Member.
