Lithological Description: Thin-bedded metalimestone, 200m thick, with minor calc-silicate rock; shows abundant minor tight folding.
Definition of Lower Boundary: Base of massive metalimestone bed above the semipelites of the Old Hythe Limestone Member.
Definition of Upper Boundary: Transition to laminated and striped calc-silicate rock at the base of the Whyntie Brae Limestone Member.
Thickness: c.200m on coastal section; progressivley overstepped southwards by Whitehills Grit Formation.
Geographical Limits: From Moray Firth coast (Old Hythe to Boyne Bay) [NJ 6155 6625 - NJ 6165 6608] to 300m northwest of Hill of Chattie [587 630].
